The first edition of this very scarce early twentieth century paperback booklet on Oudtshoorn and its surrounds. 46 pages of text, numerous full page photographic plates (unpaginated) and 40 (xl) pages of vintage advertisements at the front, rear and throughout the volume. The plates include a large folding panorama of Oudtshoorn and also a folding map of the town. In the original fragile illustrated wraps. SABIB Vol. 2, Page 362, where only six copies are recorded.
The wraps are a little soiled and frayed with 3cms. of loss at the base of the spine, but still in decent condition. The front wrapper has a light rubber stamp of the Seymour Memorial Library with a number in ink as well as Dup written in pencil. Internally the volume is clean and unmarked with no library markings. Overall a decent copy taking the fragility into account.
