Panther Head is a cape on the African coast named after an old German gunboat. The book is a true and roistering narrative of this coast, and the bird island offshore, where British seamen were among the pioneers.

This is the first modern work telling the whole story of the guano and diamond discoveries, with the dramas that followed. It covers a century and a thousand miles of wild coastline. Many great adventures sail through theses vivid pages-all the more vivid because the author is writing from personal experience of the scenes he describes.

Here are sea mysteries and island treasures, fights and feuds and sudden death. Through it all move island exiles, and always there the millions of sea-birds, taking the onlooker through one of Nature’s doors into a different and entrancing world.

Hardcover Octavo bound in black cloth boards, and has gilt lettering to the spine. Frontispiece with 256 pages of text with eighteen illustrations (Authors own photographs) and three maps. Slight bump marks to the head and heel of the spine, otherwise a very good clean copy.
