2 parts in 1, (xvi), 120, 32, (xviii index) pages, 37 etched plates of plants and fish within decorated borders, printers device of Officina Horatii Saluiani on the title page, quarter brown leather with marbled paper sides, red title label - the leather is dry and is rubbed along the joints and is splitting at the top of the upper joint, pages edges sprinkled light blue, embossed bookplate on the front paste-down endpaper, some offsetting of the plates but overall the contents and plates are crisp.
Hunt 165. 'One of the earliest books to contain pictures of plants printed from etched plates.' Blunt (1950), page 88, ...they are botanically accurate, with separate details of flowers and fruit frequently show. Very little shading in used.'
