Frank Read founded his own private press in Mazoe in the 1960\'s and the production of the \'Portraits of the Game\' required that a new hand-fed flatbed lithographic press be specially built. This type of press was selected so that the colour printing technique would approximate as closely as possible to the methods used in the original printing of 1840.
