Sue Williamson is herself a well known artist and activist, and has lectured on resistance art in South Africa, Sweden and the United States. Her series of portraits on South African women in the struggle, included in this book, has been exhibited in many parts of the world. Artists include John Muafangejo, Pippa Skotnes, Jonathan Shapiro, Patrick Holo, Andrew Verster, Hardy Botha, Tito Zungu, Sandra Kriel, Malcolm Payne, Jane Alexander, Clive van den Berg and Jeremy Wafer.
