First Edition, Octavo hardcover, bound in white cloth boards and has 350 pages, with red titles and red and blue decoration on the front board and to the spine.
Head/heal and corners are bumped/rubbed, also has some marks on the front/back boards.
The book contains a tipped-in tissue-guarded portrait frontispiece with facsimile signature of author, 48 illustrations on plates, 3 maps (2 of them on foldouts), casualty list, and a glossary.
There is a lot of foxing on the tissue-guard and on the half-title page, slight foxing throughout. New endpapers, also has previous owner’s inscription in pencil on the back/front endpaper.
Overall, the book and binding are in very good condition.
