Complete set of 1837 of this resuming of travel in River Niger by Macgregor Laird (1808-1861).
Laird was the founder on the famous shipbuilders and the Alburkah, built by his yard, was the first iron vessel to make an ocean voyage; the purpose of this expedition was the commercial development of the recent discoveries by the brothers Lander of the River Niger. Though he did not go far up the river, he formed an accurate idea of its source and course.
