First edition: 188 pages, light blue cloth boards, titled gilt on the spine, a very good copy. The dust jacket though has plenty of paper loss around the edges.

In 1912, H.P. Braadvedt, son of a Norwegian missionary, was employed at the Chief Magistrate's Office in Durban. He was one of two clerks and worked in the Native Affairs Department as an interpreter in the criminal courts and as a mediater in conflicts between African labourers and white employers.
