A program detailing the Official Royal Visit of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) to South Africa in 1925.
Frontispiece of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales followed by a list of his personal staff. There is also an interesting list of stats on the battle cruiser H.M.S. Repulse on which he travelled (i.e. Displacement 26,000 tons; Compliment of Officers and Men 1,242; Guns - six 15" and seventeen 4" etc.). The Welcome Address by the Mayor R. J. Verster is included, followed by a list of the then city councillors of Cape Town. There are numerous photographs of the sights and places of interest in and around Cape Town. Every hour of the Prince's official visit is detailed in the program.
Also included with the program is an original admission ticket for a lady to the Reception of His Royal Highness by ex-Servicemen at the Cycle Track on Thursday 30th April, 1925. It must have been a big event as the ticket number is #18152.
