The second voyage of the intrepid French traveller from Cape Town up the western coast reaching and crossing the Orange River into Namibia - a feat long disputed, but lately proven to be true. A noteworthy feat of early travel into Namaqualand and Namibia. French text
304 + 525 + 426 pp with 22 engraved plates, including five folding, as called for, complete. There is no map (which was printed and sold separately - thus not part of the books {SABIB}) The books have been rebacked with parts of the original backstrip laid down, but front and back boards were preserved in total. Ogilvie No 37
The textblocks are generally in good, clean condition, but most of the plates show some foxing, none particularly heavy or disfiguring. Endpapers replaced and there are bookplates and ownership on them.
