Portfolio of 7 Serigraphs of Nudes in brown/maroon on grey paper tipped on to cream backing sheets. Introduction by Roger Bodart. Enclosed in the original printed portfolio cover (Titled “Seven Drawings”) and further enclosed in a second portfolio cover titled “Nude Studies”. This is No. 16 of 60 copies of the very scarce limited signed edition with each graphic signed by Van Essche in pencil on the image. There is an unsigned and unnumbered edition which is also scarce, where the prints have been signed on the block and are printed in the same brown/maroon ink as the drawings. The last image provided is from the regular edition to illustrate this point and purely for comparison. The only copies of this regular edition that I have seen are enclosed in the inner “Seven Drawings” cover and lack the outer "Nude Studies" cover.
Condition: There is light wear and soiling to the outer cover but internally the condition of the plates is fine.
