It is seldom that ther appears a work of fiction, purporting to portary the secrets of wild life--human or other---whose author, through long and intimate acquaintance with his subject, is in a position to paint a true picture.

Mr Pirow is one of the select few, and this book, recounting the stirring adventures of a little native African boy, who having escaped from his raided village, is for many months thrown entirely upon his own resources, is in a great measure, an exciting lesson in natural history.

Hardcover with dustcover over original boards.Signed and inscribed by author to front endpaper.Simply and sympathetically illustrated by Hilda and Anne Stevenson-Hamilton, to title page and throughout the book. Foreward 157 pages including postscript. Very clean copy.
