Richard I. Johnson, 1925- 2020. Mr. Johnson was Professor of Conchology and a Research Associate at Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology, who published his first scientific article in 1941, at the age of 16, going on to produced more than 50 papers about malacology. He graduated from Harvard in 1951. Over the course of a lifetime Johnson assembled what some believe might be the largest private collection of books and journals on mollusks, including numerous rarities.
