Seven volumes bound into four. Volumes one and two are bound together in the first book, volume three and four in the second book, volumes five and six in the third book and volume seven is bound on its own in the fourth book. There is no eighth volume.

Bound in half red leather with gilt decorations and titling on the spines and red book cloth covered boards. Each volume has a full colour frontispiece, some additional colour plates and profusely illustrated in black and white, photographs, maps, plans, etc.

CONDITION DETAILS: This set is missing the final and eighth volume. The spines have been sun faded to the extent that the original bright red is now a dull brownish red colour. The bindings are worn. Internally clean with few spots and soil marks.
