With a Descriptive Introduction by I.D. Colvin, And Twenty-six Full-page Illustrations, reproducing Valuable and Rare Engravings, Etc.

First edition: 2 volumes, 1008 + 1139 pages, special deluxe binding with a white sheet of paper interleaved between each page of text – to add notes, bookplates of Alpheus Fuller Williams on the front pastedown endpapers, bound in half blue morocco for Maskew titled gilt and with gilt decoration on the spines in panels – spines are slightly and unevenly faded, the blue boards are very lightly insect scarred, top edges gilt, other edges uncut. A very good set.

This edition is limited to 500 copies of which 450 are for sale. It is uncertain how many copies were bound for Maskew Miller but we have records of very few having been sold over the years. The binding was most likely to have been done in London.
