The genus Erythrina, a name derived from the Greek word 'erythros' meaning red, contains over a hundred species. There are six species indigenous to South Africa and three to South West Africa [Namibia].

The author, "through her love of painting and plants", wanted to educate interested laymen about these beautiful indigenous plants.

Green leather boards, gilt titling to spine, front board slightly bowed. DJ price-clipped, front DJ shows evidence of dampstains, smudges, a few chips to DJ top edges. First signature partially detached from text-block, internally a fine copy.
