1.) SOUTH AFRICAN GENERAL ELECTION MANIFESTOS 1910-1981

Publisher's brown hardcover binding with dust jacket.

496pp. Text in Afrikaans and English.

Contents clean, corners sharp, binding solid. Jacket in fine condition.

'In this publication a very important facet of political growth and development in South Africa is portrayed by documents from Kleynhans' valuable archive of political documents. What better than successive official political party manifestos during general elections to demonstrate more clearly the development of principles and policy in the ranks of the political parties, of political volte-face, political policy deviations ... of successes and of failures?

Historians and party political researchers are getting in a nutshell a valuable compilation of information much of which would otherwise be very difficult to obtain. For the layman also this book offers and extraordinary collection of interesting reading matter and research material.'
