Published by Longmans, Green, And Co, London, 1900. 1st Edition. A very good copy of this well illustrated hunting memoir, principally covering Selous' exploits in Asia Minor and the Rocky Mountains. Dulling to block edge, but pages are clean and bright. Green cloth covers unmarked. Bright gilt stag head to the front board. Internally fine with numerous black and white ills. Library bookplate to front pasted down. No other markings. A fine copy.
F C Selous, long noted as an authority on hunting big game in Africa, also took time to hunt in Turkey. Ascending the rough slopes of the Musa Dagh and the Maimun Dagh, he bagged wild goat (Capra aegagus). During a hunt on the Ak Dagh (White Mountain) Selous stalked and bagged trophy maral stags. The second half of this work details hunts in the Rocky Mountains. Czech p182.
