London, Herbert Jenkins,1936 1st edition. 8vo (142 x 218mm). Pp254 + 2pp ads. B/w photograph plates, end-paper maps. Blue-green cloth, upper board and spine titled in black. Partial original dust-wrapper. Internally fine with numerous black and white ills.

"This book has been written for the man of moderate means, and with the intention of showing that the camera and the rifle are not incompatible companions of a hunting trip. The telephotos of living animals, not one of which has been taken from a hide, are intended to give some idea of the country which they inhabit and the circumstances under which a sportsman is likely to see them; also to draw attention to the very interesting forms of animal life to be met with round the camp and on the march. "

[The author] provides chapters on various game to be stalked, how to stalk and where to stalk. While most of the text concerns a how-to approach, the author does include brief vignettes of his own experiences hunting goral, bear, tiger, barasingh, and other species." (Czech). .
