New York: Harper & Brothers, 1878. First American Edition. Octavo. 2 volume set.522 and 566pp., with all ten maps present which includie the two large maps in pockets. and 150 wood cuts all in fine condition with the full page illustrations with tissue guards. Perhaps best known as the intrepid adventurer who located the missing explorer David Livingstone in equatorial Africa in 1871.
A good set bound in 3/4 brown morocco over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, all edge marbled with matching endpapers.
In need of refurbishing otherwise fine.
