Collection of 16 vintages (cartes de visite) photographs from the estate of the Stepney-Gulson family. With provenance and dedication to the inside of front boards from Augusta Gulston (19th December 1889).

Various portraits of the members of STEPNEY-GULSTON family and their Japanese friends, including Francis Stepney Gulston (1845-1917), who was an English rower who at Henley Royal Regatta won the Grand Challenge Cup five times, the Stewards' Challenge Cup ten times, and the Silver Goblets five times, and his brother Alan Stepney Gulston (1844–1919), who was an artist and author. All portraits are inserted in victorian leather album with embossed decoration and metal clasp.

Photographs partly yellowed, faded or slightly stained. Photo album lightly rubbed and shaved, small blemish on cover and edges. Altogether well preserved rarity.
