The map is of Kilimanjaro to the sea. The illustrations include handicrafts, weapons, people, customs, jewelry. The last section is a listing of the medicines taken with on the expedition. "An incredible journey for a woman. The author, trained in medicine and ethnology, traveled over a 1000 miles in East Africa, among some hostile tribes, unattended by no one other than Zanzibaris mercenaries without bloodshed, living to tell us about her trek."
