The subject of the first first volume was centered around The Kill and this second volume explores the theme of survival. Survival in the air, the seas, and on land, and the perpetual struggle to survive against the elements of fire, flood, drought and famine.

This title features sixty two reproductions from specially commissioned works of art, brush-worked by twenty three contributing artists and two from the private collection of the late Gordon Vorster. Each complemented by a facing photographic study of the actuality of survival  focused throughout and around the vastness of the lands of Africa.
