Intended to be playful and humerous, these tales are probably based on fact and appealed to readers during the Victorian era. It is interesting to note how the author saw the different races: Boers, Jews, Black Africans, etc.: The racial stereo types of the time.

Original dark green cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine and the upper board with a decoration. The front end papers are followed by a page of the publisher's book list, ix prelims, 5 illustrations including the title page.
