Smuts.\" Inscribed on the half-title : \"To Mrs J.C. Smuts \"Ouma\" With Loving Thoughts and All Good Wishes, G.W. Reynolds 8/2/1951.\" Jan Smuts died on 11 September 1950, obviously after the book was bound, but not handed over - thus the inscription to his widow. From the library of Smuts\' grandson Louis Weyers, with his details on verso of end-paper. This is a unique copy, not a numbered subscribers edition.
