The illustrations in this title comprise the complete collection of ninety plates executed by Thomas Baines, together with descriptions from the text of C.J. Andersson's "Notes on the Birds of Damara Land and the adjacent Countries of South-West Africa".

Housed in the original green coloured slip case to match the binding.

Bound in the original green skivotex with gilt titling on the spine and a T. Baines signature device on the upper board. This copy still has the original transparent cover wrapped around the binding. Decorated end papers. 204 pages, colour frontis portrait of Baines plus 90 colour plates.

Loosely inserted are pre-publication notices, order form, etc.

CONDITION DETAILS: The book itself is clean. The slip case has cracks on the bottom edge - see close-up image provided.
