Two vintage guide books on Salisbury, Rhodesia.
1.) The Central Bottle Store Salisbury (Rhodesia) Wine & Spirit Booklet
74pp card cover booklet published in 1957.
The Central Bottle Store controlled one of the oldest Bottle Store Licences in Southern Rhodesia. This booklet was produced to coincide with the 1957 opening of their new premises on Baker Avenue, in Wetherby House, which featured Salisbury's very first underground Wine Cellar.
The bottle store stocked an impressive and select range of Wines, Spirits, Liqueurs, Cigarettes, Tobaccos and Pipes from all over the world.
The booklet contains a variety of vintage bar & smoking adverts as well as a few cocktail recipes. There are also short informative articles on the origins and history of the different wines & spirits stocked at the bottle store, which includes information on the distillation and brewing processes.
2.) Salisbury Sunshine City Tourist Guide
60pp vintage tourist guide published in 1976.
Includes many adverts from the period, a History of Salisbury, a Street Map of Salisbury, Lists of Guest Houses and Hotels, a List of Night Clubs etc.
Both booklets are in very good condition.
