THE COLLECTED PAPERS OF SIGMUND FREUD - FIRST EDITIONS IN FIVE VOLUMES

This set of Freud's Collected Papers comprises the uncommon first edition of the first 4 volumes constituting Volumes 7 - 10 of the International Psycho-Analytical Library and published by the Hogarth Press in 1924 - 1925. The fifth volume was first published by the Hogarth Press in 1950 and is also a first edition, being No.37 of the the International Psycho-Analytical Library.

Vol.2. 1924. 404pp. Clinical Papers & Papers on Technique.

Vol.3. 1925. 607pp. Case Histories.

Vol.4. 1925. 508pp. Papers on Metapsychology and on Applied Psychodynamics.

Vol.5. 1950. 396pp. Miscellaneous Papers - 1888 - 1938.

All volumes in matching dark green cloth. Vols. 1-4 are bulky 8vo. and Vol. 5 is a much smaller format 8vo.

Condition Report: Vols. 1 - 4 have the ownership inscription of a (?) M.M. te Water of the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic and are dated Sept. 1926, on the front free endpapers. These volumes have some damp damage. In Vols. 2-4, this is restricted to the fore edges of the boards and occasionally extending to the pastedown endpapers. Internally they are otherwise clean and free of damp. Vol.1 has similar damage to the boards, but in addition has a damp stain of the lower 10cms. of the fore edge of the text block and also apparent throughout the book in the lower front and bottom margins. I have attempted to illustrate condition in the images supplied. Vol. 5 is in very good clean condition with no damp and has the original but defective torn and frayed dustwrapper. This set is offered with all faults as a reading or possibly rebinding copy with a very low reserve price.  Please note also that this lot will result in a heavy parcel and international shipping might be prohibitive.
