The 1931 Harrap Edition of this book, beautifully bound in dark blue leather, with gilt frames and design on front and back cover, gilt fish design and five raised bands and title on spine. Endpapers marbled in green and brown. Gilt decorative dentelles. Binding by George Bayntun (Riviere) Bath, England, a binder whose skill was acknowledged by frequent patronage of Queen Mary.
Frontispiece and 11 colour plates by Arthur Rackham. All tissue-guarded with plate title printed on tissue. B/w vignettes on many pages and at Chapter headings.

Rackham's third book with Harrap. The original Compleat Angler was published in 1653. The 5th Edition in 1676 supplied the text for the 1897 edition, from which the text of this book is taken.
