How it works

Register

158 pages, frontispiece portrait of George Kemp, 10 colour vignettes in the text, folding map, red cloth titled in back on the upper cover and spine, the cloth is a little faded.

The book is dedicated to Major George Kemp M.P. Opposite the frontispiece portrait is pasted a small obituary notice of Kemp which summarises his career as politician, cricketer - he played for Lancashire and England - and soldier. Contemporary works with coloured illustrations are unusual and this must have been an expensive production for its day.

Privately published by the author, "Eastbank", Smithills, Bolton, Lancs, No date (1902)
