Compiled under the direction of Her Majesty the Queen, by Lieut.-General the Hon. C. Grey.

Fourth edition, xxxi + 469 pages, frontispiece portrait, 1 plate, full brown morocco, royal crest on the spine and the letters V and A intertwined in gilt on the upper cover, all edges gilt, ticket of J. Bignell, Bookbinders, Piccadilly on the rear paste-down endpaper, silk place marker, ex-library copy. Library stamps on the inscription page, and free endpaper, library number on verso of title page, library numbers in white at the base of the spine, stamps on the gilt edges, light foxing on the title page otherwise contents crisp.

Presentation inscription on the front free endpaper reads, 'Presented to the Albany Public Library, Grahamstown, by Victoria Reg, Windsor Castle, March 1868.'
