First edition: viii, 143 pages + 7 blank pages for notes, colour frontispiece, numerous black and white photographs and drawings, brown imitation leather with the crest of the Hunter's Association in gilt on the upper cover, titled gilt on the spine, a fine copy in the light brown marble paper covered slipcase.

Limitations page reads: One thousand copies have been published by the Amwell Press as the first book in its African Hunting Heritage Collection. This is copy is no.324 as authorised by the author and president of NFSL.

Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game hunting Books, 1785 - 1999, page 89: Dyer writes more of the historical beginnings of the East African Professional Hunters' Association and less of the actual hunting experiences, There is mention of elephant shooting, as well as hunting other game, but the richness of this volume centres on capsule biographies and anecdotes of some of the members.
