Paper covered boards are grubby and paperblock is cocked. Some rippling evident to inside front board. Retailer's marking to fep. Page 67 has a 2cm closed tear at the fore-edge. A loosening of the binding between pp 96-97. 207pp with a few illustrations.

From the introduction: 'this book is not by any means exhaustive, but the gentle reader may find it to be what I hope it is - not a historical record of the Police Forces of South Africa, but a few interesting facts where honour, courage and self-sacrifice play a great part.' there are chapters on, amongst others, Isandhlwana, 1879; Rorke's Drift; The Bambatha Rebellion; the Rebellion of 1914-15; The Zandfontein Disaster;The Black Police of South Africa.
