Illustrated by Harry Rountree.

254 pages, colour frontispiece (a view of St Andrews) and 63 colour and black & white plates with captions on the tissue guards, bound in full red morocco, titled and decorated gilt on the upper cover and spine, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, hint of staining by pressed leaves on eight pages, binding slightly leaning, a very good copy.

Signed by the author on the second free endpaper and with an original watercolour – ‘A Birdie?’ – by Harry Roundtree bound in before the half title page.

This special edition is not mentioned in Murdoch (Joseph S.F.)The Library of Golf 1743-1966, A Bibliography of Golf Books, (Gale Research Co., 1968), pages 68-70. It is thought to be one of only three or four copies issued each with a different watercolour by Harry Rountree.
