284pp. 191 illustrations and 15 maps. Contents clean. Publisher's blue cloth binding with gilt titles to spine. Hinges not cracked although binding is fairly limp.

Dedicated to the memory of those who fell in a manful struggle in the forests and swamps of West Africa, 1914-16.

Describes the circumstances leading up to the actions in 1914-16 against the German garrisons in Togoland & the Cameroons and the fighting and occupation of those territories. Includes many references to West African troops. A very good account of this campaign.
