2 volumes: 598 + 598 pages, frontispieces in each volume, 21 plates - oxidation on the backs of the plates, portraits, illustrations, the folding map at the back of volume 2 has been untidily folded and the fore-edge is frayed, volume 1 has been rebound in red cloth preserving the original backstrip, volume 2 is in the original decorated red cloth which has been neatly recased, new end papers in both volumes, foxing on several pages.
