Each volume with title, one coloured plate, and numerous black and white plates and line drawings, Some by Snaffles. Volume VI however does have 4 colour illustrations rather than one colour plate. Volumes I, II, and III with original printed wrappers bound in. Volumes 1V, V, and V1 bound without original printed wrappers. Vol. 1 with Foreword by Lieutenant-General Sir Robert Baden-Powell. Volumes I, II, III, are each bound in later half leather with black cloth sides with original wrappers bound in. (uniform bindings). Volumes IV, V, and VI and bound together, without original wrappers, in a later half leather binding with blue cloth sides, slightly smaller in height than the other 3 bound volumes. Spine with 5 raised bands and gilt lettering on red leather label.
All housed in a custom made green cloth slipcase, with gilt lettering on red leather labels. Green ribbon to access books from slipcase. One section of slipcase raised to accommodate the slightly smaller vol. VI. The bindings have some minor marks and there is some small areas of crinkling to the blue cloth. Internally some very occasional light spotting , otherwise clean and sound. Uncommon.
