Forest green cloth boards with gilt ibex and title on front board, gilt printing and bear on spine with some loss to the gilt on the top decorative bar. Mild rubbing to corners and back edge of spine; faint lightening to bottom edge of front board, a little to spine and a few small spots at top back board near spine. Tipped-in prints many in colour. Interior of book is clean and looks unused.
The author died at the age of 24. This volume contains 8 stories: The Scape-Goat; The Emerald of the Forest; The Ibex of Sha-Ping; Mountain Sprites; The Raiders; The Destroyers; Mountain Life at Close Quarters; The Spell of Laluni. "Bear with me, if you can. The stories are true in the main, and 'fact is stranger than fiction'." Rundall was killed in action in 1914 (in the same battle that took his brother as well). The book is a series of stories of hunting adventure, told from both the hunter's point of view and the hunted.
