First edition: 3 volumes bound together: vol. 1: 194 pages; vol. 2: 266 pages; vol. 3: 274 pages, each volume has a frontispiece, numerous black and white photographs, maps, and diagrams, red, yellow and blue cloth boards, which are scuffed with an armorial crest on the upper cover, titled gilt on the spine, which is faded and almost illegible, a good copy.
The inscription on a front free end paper reads: Lest we forget - To the Rev. C. J.and Mrs Taylor from Howe Jan 17.1910
Mendelssohn (Sidney) South African Bibliography volume 1 page 740: A well-illustrated record of the founding, equipment, and services of the Imperial Yeomanry Hospitals in the South African War. Lady Howe was " Chairman " of the Committee, and Earl Howe was secretary. The second volume contains " With the Imperial Yeomanry Field Hospital and Bearer Company," by Charles Stonham, C.M.G., personal experiences compiled from a diary, and aided by notes by Major Hale and Dr. Green.
