Cecil Barnard, Bvekenya, "King of the Ivory Poachers" lived at Crook's Corner, where South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique meet. He told his story to Bulpin, detailing a life of hunting elephants and living off the land, moving between the three countries to evade those who sought to apprehend him.
