Only 370 numbered copies printed on mould-made paper in black, red and brown. 70 copies were bound in full white morocco with scarlet inlays on front and back boards.
Gilt on spine and on front and back boards, and top edges gilt. Housed in a scarlet buckram slip case. This work is an allegory, in which the world is depicted as a city, and man as a pilgrim.
The book is designed as a sister volume to the Golden Cockerel JURGEN. This very good copy is numbered 54.
