Two Volume set. Original olive green coloured cloth boards with gilt titling on the spines and a black border decoration on the upper boards. Pale yellow end papers. Volume one has xx prelims, 360 pages, 7 full page black and white illustrations, 18 in text illustrations and a large folding map in a pocket at the rear. Volume two has viii prelims, 346 pages followed by 32 pages of the publisher's advertisements, 14 full page black and white plates, 6 in text illustrations and a coloured fold out map inserted after the last text page.

CONDITION DETAILS: The bindings are in above average condition. The large folding map in the rear pocket of volume one has browning and is splitting along the folds. Images provided. There are some brown marks/soiling/foxing/spotting on some pages - see images.
