Mendelssohn (Sidney) South African Bibliography, volume 1, page 42,  ‘After the death of Mr Andersson, his voluminous papers and notes came into the possession of Mr. L. Loyd. The volume has been compiled from these sources, and it comprises an interesting collection of anecdotes concerning the lion and the elephant and a few full-page engravings.’
