The publisher has an interesting Herbert Guest association: 'In 1902 the African Book Co. purchased the printing plant belonging to Herbert Guest and he and his sons Harold and Reginald became employees of the new company.' - South African Printers and Publishers. Herbert Guest published booklets and pamphlets during the Anglo-Boer war and was active in Klerksdorp, Transvaal during the siege.
