How it works

The Mystery of Edwin Drood was Dicken's last book, and remains unfinished. It was published in August 1870, two months after Dickens death.

First edition. Book re-covered in marbled boards with leather corners and spine, and marbled endpapers. binding in very good condition. Engraved portrait frontispiece by J.H. Baker, with Dickens' signature and date 1870; title vignette and 13 illustrations by Samuel Luke Fildes. Occasional light foxing in front and back of book, but almost none in the text. Plates clean and fresh. A very good, clean, tight copy.

The current seller (circa 70 years old) inherited this book from his father, who in turn inherited it from his father.  It may have been in his family earlier than that.
