Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to front and spine, 503 pages with fold-out maps. Inscribed and dated (New York, 1918) by H.J. van der Bijl on first loose endpaper. 

"Hendrik van der Bijl (1887-1948) was a South African electrical engineer and industrialist and is regarded as one of the greatest South Africans for his contribution to the country's development. He was the driving force behind the establishment of the South African electricity utility company Eskom and the South African Steel and Iron Corporation". The City of Vanderbijlpark is named after him. -wikipedia

Discolouration to spine and rear board, small library stamps and inscription at the front, else very good.
