The indomitable Baker and his wife Florence spent several years in the region hunting and exploring the upper reaches of the great river's tributaries in this case the Atbara and the Rahad. 596 pp with numerous text illustrations and engraved plates foling map with spot colour. In green half calf a little scuffed gilt on spine somewhat dulled. The title page has a very faint damp mark near the spine but otherwise the textblock is in good tight condition. Ownership on endpapers as well as handwritten presentation to school library.
