This lot contains only two of the three volumes of the Baines diaries.
These two volumes are from the Government Archives of Southern Rhodesia Oppenheimer Series.
Both volumes have their original dust jackets and are bound in the original red buckram boards with gilt titling on the spines and a badge device on the upper boards. Top edges gilt. Volume one has xxxviii prelims, 277 pages, 4 colour plates, 5 black and white plates, a fold out map and a large folding map at the rear. The second volume has viii prelims and the pagination continues from the first volume to 598, 3 colour plates, 12 black and white plates and a folding map at the rear.
CONDITION DETAILS: The dust jackets are worn and have tears and the first one was repaired at the rear side with sticky tape that has left residue marks. These volumes are internally clean, but the the first ten pages of the second volume have top page corner creases.
