Large spiral bound softcover.
It is indeed a pleasure to be invited to contribute a foreword to this truly outstanding account of the postal stationery of Natal. The authors, John Dickson and Keith Hanman, have produced a work which will not only be the standard reference for its specific area of study but will also be seen as the benchmark for corresponding specialised monographs covering the postal stationery of other colonies.
The text is sub-divided into three distinct sections- the description of the actual postal stationery items produced together with the background information as to how and why they came to be issued- the postal rates and related usages of Natal postal stationery- and extracts from the official documentation relevant to the issue and use of postal stationery within the colony.
Frontispiece-Title, Summary of Contents, Foreword, General Introduction, Acknowledgements, Bibliography, Colour plates. Three Parts:
1- Description and Production Records.
2- Rates and Practices authorised.
3- Natal Laws, Proclamations and Regulations.
233 pages text with supporting reproductions etc.
