Facsimile reprint of the original published in 1884 by William Ridgway-London.Complete Two Volumes.

Leaf Green boards with attractive Zulu Shield/Assegai vignette to front boards and gilt lettering to spine.

Volume 1- Frontispiece of Bishop Colenso/Preface and Introduction, xx plus 380 pages text.

Volume 2- Frontispiece of Cetshwayo ka Mpande-Preface and Introduction- xvii plus 513 pages text.

Interesting perspective and viewpoint which at times was considered controversial as Frances Colenso has sympathies towards the Zulu's and the manipulation of the war and scapegoat( Durnford) for the disaster at Isandlwana. Probably considered biased, but has pertinent comments and value to the history, research and outcome of this campaign. Very clean copies.
